(I) talk of Christ . . . and (I) write according to (my understanding), that (my) children (and friends) may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2 Nephi 25:26)
"Love is the beginning, the middle, and the end of the pathway of discipleship. . . .
The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of transformation. It takes us as men and women of the earth and refines us into men and women for the eternities."
I am learning this truth as I walk my path to the temple. I have been in the refiner's fire for a few weeks now. The Lord has confirmed to me through prayer that it has prepared me to go. All of this for love. Love that is so profound that it makes it all worth while.
I still have my moments of doubt (that I am worthy, that I will be able to handle the buffetings of Satan). This post has buoyed me.
You always lead us to those things that are virtuous, lovely, and praiseworthy, thank you. I wonder if you realize the great service you offer here.
Christy, the Boston Temple is next to the meetinghouse we attended for six years when we lived in Boston. It is a unique building, rebuilt with help from the community after being destroyed by arson years ago. I'm envious, since we've never had the chance to attend that temple. We will be thinking of you.
I currently try to post original thoughts on Fridays, with quotes on Tuesdays. Feel free to comment on new or old posts. Comments on posts over a month old are moderated to avoid spam and will be released whenever I notice them. The comment policy is at the bottom of this page.
