I think you learn more when you are less certain you know the right answer already.
There is a wonderful application to what "faith" really means in that quote.
(I) talk of Christ . . . and (I) write according to (my understanding), that (my) children (and friends) may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2 Nephi 25:26)

That's so true!! It also brings up the issue of pride and how it can be a stumbling block to learning.
