(I) talk of Christ . . . and (I) write according to (my understanding), that (my) children (and friends) may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2 Nephi 25:26)
What do you mean depression is not about sin? I have a testimony it is.
Oh my gosh, I need to stop with my sarcasm already.
I remember my anger when finding out that my depressed feelings that were close to depression were for me "only" about hormones and that with the pill things could go much better. I know we can't control the chemicals in our body and it is so sad sometimes to think that there is not one single solution but almost one for each case. It would be so much easier if there were some kind of general cure like for a cold.
I can still feel very low but now that I know where it comes from I am able not to give in and even anticipate them. Just like any other being, the difference being that I know that if I am not careful I can be suicidal. Somehow remembering this helps me in taking care of myself which means in my case to step back from whatever I am doing and refocus on me, my needs, what I love, who I am, who I know I am etc... In my case I have found out how to make prayer work for me as well but I know it is much easier to talk about than to apply and I really wish it were as easy as to type those words. I think one of the thing prayer helps me with is to re-focus on what I lost track of. I pray and I stay in a state of prayer until even if my brain is still foggy I can tell I have found my direction again. But I know there was a time when prayer did not help because I did not know how to use it.
I currently try to post original thoughts on Fridays, with quotes on Tuesdays. Feel free to comment on new or old posts. Comments on posts over a month old are moderated to avoid spam and will be released whenever I notice them. The comment policy is at the bottom of this page.

" I think one of the thing prayer helps me with is to re-focus on what I lost track of."
