(I) talk of Christ . . . and (I) write according to (my understanding), that (my) children (and friends) may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2 Nephi 25:26)

I Thank Thee, O God, For Our Prophets
What an amazing conference. I don't think I've been fed that fully and broadly in any conference. Please share your favorite moments / talks / insights / feelings.
I LOVE Pres. Hinckley, but I have to say that I'm not sure I have ever been touched more deeply and intensely as I was this afternoon listening to Pres. Monson talk about his wife. The only comparison is when Pres. Hinckley spoke for the first time after Marjorie died, but this one took me from hysterical laughter to tears in 2 seconds flat.
Pres. Uchtdorf's talk was astounding, as was Elder Wirthlin's and Elder Christofferson's. Taken together, these three talks laid out love and acceptance and gratitude and compassion like I've never heard in conference.
Elder Scott's talk on abuse almost brought me to tears, and I've never suffered real abuse.
Elder Holland's discourse was a theological masterpiece - a stunning and clear denunciation of one of the central doctrines of the apostasy.
Sister Tanner's talk was simply beautiful.
How do you summarize 10 hours of hearing the pure word of God? Suffice it to say that my heart was touched and I was inspired and taught more deeply and movingly and powerfully than I have been in my memory.
When President Monson talked, I felt as if he was speaking right to me. There was even a point where it felt like he was staring right at me. LOL. I was hoping to feel a strong connection with President Monson because of this Conference, and that's exactly what I got:)
Elder Holland's remarks were also wonderful. I always love his talks. If I had a favorite Apostle, it would probably be Elder Holland.
And if I'm not mistaken, I enjoyed Elder Lund's remarks as well.
As I commented in mama's blog, I would have to say it was participating in the solemn assembly that was my favorite part of the weekend I literally fought back tears as it dawned on me that I was standing as part of the most elite and powerful group of men on this planet to sustain the prophet of God. A fabulous experiance and an honor to be part of
I don't know how to pick just one or a few favorite moments. This was the overall *best* conf I ever remember! I will likely blog about it myself at some point this week... after I get some sleep. lol
I don't know if I should admit this, but Pres. Monson has never been among my "favorites" of the Apostles. However, I testify that this conference was a life changing experience, in many ways, for me. He IS God's Prophet. My love for him is overwhelming. I could almost see the mantle on him and I am grateful for the experience. As I stood the couple of times to sustain him the Spirit grabbed me by the collar, shook me hard, and asked, "What have you been thinking?!" Wow, just....wow. I will never forget this conference.
I currently try to post original thoughts on Fridays, with quotes on Tuesdays. Feel free to comment on new or old posts. Comments on posts over a month old are moderated to avoid spam and will be released whenever I notice them. The comment policy is at the bottom of this page.
