In my experience the US homeless generally do have access to most of their needs but there are many ifs, if as Donnell Allan points out they can negotiate the system, if they are not in a homeless unfriendly city, if they are aware they are off meds and need them but the truth is side effects of psych meds are generally terrible and few will stay on them.
